Agudah Florida Mission to Washington A Huge Success
We are delighted to share that the Agudah’s recent Florida Mission to Washington was a tremendous success, Baruch Hashem. Our delegation, representing many areas from across the state—including Surfside, Miami, Hollywood, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm, Orlando, and Jacksonville—gathered in Washington for a highly productive one-day mission.
Our schedule was packed with meetings, including discussions with Senator Rick Scott, Congressman Jared Moskowitz, Congressman Brian Mast, Congressman Byron Donalds, Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, Congressman John Rutherford, as well as meetings with the offices of Senator Marco Rubio , Congresswoman Kat Cammack, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Congresswoman Frederica Wilson.
Some meetings were held directly with the members, while others involved their staff, yet all were equally productive. Senator Scott underscored the power of voting and the crucial role of community participation at the polls. Whether it’s a major election or a local one, every vote counts.
Senator Rubio’s Foreign Policy Fellow shared how their office is working not only on defensive measures like increasing security funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant, but also on proactive measures to understand and address the roots of rising antisemitism.
Overall, our discussions covered critical policies and community actions. Most importantly, we expressed our appreciation to officials who have been staunch supporters of Israel and our Jewish community. Rabbi Avrohom Luban conveyed this sentiment perfectly to Senator Scott: “If we came all the way here, said thank you, and traveled back home, it would be worthwhile just to share those two words with you.”
Yehuda Ginsberg summed up the day: “It was amazing to be part of this. We are living through tumultuous times, and each of us has a responsibility to make a positive impact. Joining this trip was a real opportunity to do that.”
We extend our gratitude to Rabbi Yossi Charner from the Agudah of Washington DC office for spearheading and coordinating this mission, and to Rabbi Abba Cohen for ensuring our voice is heard in the halls of Washington year-round.
