Another FPL Rate Decrease Begins in July

The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved FPL’s request to reduce customer rates again beginning in July based on a downward revision in projected natural gas costs for 2023.

With this reduction and an earlier rate decrease in May, the typical 1,000-kWh residential customer bill will be $8.38 lower in July than it was in April. That’s a reduction of nearly 6%.

Even before these reductions, FPL’s typical residential bill was well below the national average and among the lowest in Florida.

In addition to the residential decrease, typical business customer bills will decrease in July by 3% to 5%, depending on rate class, compared to rates that took effect in May.
