Boca Raton Eruv To Receive Significant Upgrade
The Boca Raton Eruv is set to receive a major upgrade after the local Eruv Committee worked with the Eruv Network to better serve the Boca Jewish community.

Dear Community Member,
As we send this letter, we know that everyone is deeply affected by the war that has been thrust upon Acheinu Bnei Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael, and there is much worry and suffering. So many here and throughout chutz l’aretz, are bonding with our brothers and sisters in Israel in extraordinary ways through Tefilah, Torah, Ma’asim Tovim, and Tzedakah. May Hashem bless all of our efforts on their behalf, and may we have a real and lasting shalom and nechama very soon.
All the while, we must support and strengthen our institutions of Torah and Mitzvah observance. Israel vitally needs a spiritually strong diaspora, and that responsibility falls on us.
One of the key components of our Shabbos observance has been the Boca Raton Community Eruv, which was established here almost 35 years ago, and expanded over 20 years ago, under the direction of Rav Avrohom Blumenkrantz zt”l, with the input of other Rabbonim since his passing. It is truly beautiful to see hundreds of frum families with young children, walking the streets of our neighborhoods every Shabbos as well those that need wheelchairs and walkers.
However, with the passage of time, the Eruv’s existing infrastructure has shown signs of wear and fragility. Technological advancements have also presented us with newer, more robust systems and equipment that can significantly elevate the Eruv’s Halachic and practical standards.
A few years ago, we began a relationship with the Eruv Network, which is by far the most respected and active group of its type in the United States. Under their auspices, several veteran Rabbinic Eruv assessors came to Boca on a few occasions. They have made a proposal that will result in an extensive and highly significant upgrade to our Eruv. This upgrade will make the Eruv acceptable at an even higher level, and promises to make our Eruv much stronger and much more durable. Over a year ago we all enthusiastically embraced this update and upgrade, and began this work for the benefit of our community’s Shmiras Shabbos.
An Upgrade Eruv Campaign, aimed at funding the construction costs and ongoing maintenance has been launched. Further details regarding the campaign will follow. In the meantime, see the following video message:

We firmly believe that investing additional effort into safeguarding Shabbos will not only serve as a merit and protection for ourselves but also for Jews wherever they may be. As has been said through the ages, “As the Jews have kept the Shabbos, so the Shabbos has kept the Jews.” If we faithfully observe Shabbos, Hashem will surely safeguard us – all of Am Yisrael – in return. With Torah Blessings,
