Bochurim of Yeshiva of Miami Enjoy K1 Speedway This Week
While we take the learning very seriously at YoM, we also realize the value of giving the boys ample opportunities to engage in appropriate extra-curricular activities that serve to enhance the overall Yeshiva experience. As our motto states, “…Because Every Boy Deserves to Love Yeshiva”, and these experiences are an important component in achieving this goal.
When it was announced at the beginning of the week that we would be going to K1 Speedway on Wednesday, the boys were definitely over the top excited about it. Still, we managed to get through two very solid days of learning, and have our regular Shiurim on Wednesday morning as well. But as soon as Shiur was over, the boys hit the pavement running, so to speak.
Arriving at K1 at approximately 12:30, helmets were distributed and the boys received a crash course (no pun intended) on safe driving and general rules of the road. Then they were assigned to their vehicles and the fun began. B”H everyone adhered to the guidelines and no accidents were reported. As is the case with many of our field trips, the Rabbeim also got into the action. In addition to having a great time, outings of this kind help to foster camaraderie beyond the classroom, and friendships that last far beyond the boys’ high school years. We thank the Rabbeim for their participation, which definitely enhanced an already-terrific afternoon.
