Broward Air-Rescue Helicopter Crashes into Florida Apartment Building In Pompano Beach

At least two people onboard a county sheriff’s rescue helicopter were injured when it crashed into a Florida apartment building Monday morning, authorities said.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office chopper smashed into the building a little after 8:45 a.m. in the area of North Dixie Highway and Atlantic Boulevard just south of the Pompano Beach Airpark, where it originated.

Video posted online showed the helicopter slowly descending as black smoke emanated from its tail.
