Hatzalah South Florida On Site As First Evacuation Flight From Israel Lands in Tampa

As the massive Boeing Airliner pulled up to the specially created terminal at Tampa International Airport, the 300 American citizens evacuated from Eretz Yisroel were greeted by a familiar sight, a Hatzalah ambulance from Hatzalah South Florida.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made the special request of Hatzalah that they be on site as the evacuees step of of the airplane, an end to a twenty-six hour ordeal met with familiar faces and warm welcomes.

Upon seeing the Hatzalah volunteers waiting for the plane to arrive, Governor DeSantis warmly greeted them, reminding them that he had signed the legislation giving licensure to Hatzalah into law and that he expects Hatzalah to continue expanding its coverage across the state.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the first mission from Israel with evacuees who were unable to return home due to commercial flight cancellations. The arrival was a surprise to many as the flights had remained under a strict media blackout as they progressed from Tel-Aviv to Portugal, and from there to Tampa.

Florida partnered with Project Dynamo to bring the nearly 300 evacuees home from Israel, including more than 270 to Tampa and seven to Orlando. Once the plane landed in Tampa, evacuees were able to access resources from multiple state agencies.
