Major Bridge Work To Begin in Hollywood

Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) will be performing major bridge repairs on the County-owned bridge located on Sheridan Street over the Florida Turnpike in Hollywood (refer to map). The work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 28, 2022 and will be completed primarily during nighttime hours. The work is set to conclude on October 14, 2022 barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.

This project will address structural issues caused recently by an over-height vehicle that struck the bridge’s concrete beams.

Traffic Control:

• Nightly lane closures on Florida’s Turnpike as well as on Sheridan Street
• One westbound and one eastbound through lane on Sheridan Street will be closed for one week
• Access to all driveways and sidewalks will be maintained
• Variable message sign boards will be posted to advise affected motorists and pedestrians
