TRAGEDY: Jewish Woman Struck and Killed While Crossing Street On Biscayne Blvd Wednesday

With a heavy heart we report on a tragic incident which left a Jewish woman dead as she attempted to cross Biscayne Blvd while pushing a stroller.

33-year-old Jaklin Sabag OBM was pushing a stroller around 1:00pm Wednesday near the Northeast 22nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard intersection when she was struck and killed by the driver of a dump truck. According to surveillance video, Sebag attempted to cross directly in front of the truck, whom due to the high of the vehicle was unable to see her.

The truck driver quickly stopped as soon as he realized something was wrong, but despite a quick response by emergency personnel, Jaklin was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A young child who was in the stroller at the time of the incident was rescued by a bystander and is reported in good condition.

Chesed Shel Emes representatives were on hand to help the family cope with the sudden tragedy.
